Gagging on OJ: https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4219119-doj-gag-order-trump-jan-6-case-puts-judge-tough-spot/ . This article is dead wrong. The judge, jury and prosecutors are entitled to serve without being threatened. Here, the defendant commands a vast army of zombies who actually believe what he says and could carry out his threats, as we saw on January 6. Therefore, the gag order should issue, and it should bar threatening or defamatory statements. Also, the order should say that it will be interpreted broadly as concerns potentially dangerous speech, and that violation could be remedied by a broader order, fines, or imprisonment.

Further, if violations could taint the jury pool, a potential remedy is acceleration of the trial date, in order to limit further damage to the jury pool. Similar treatment would apply to any other defendant. Also, this does not violate OJ’s First Amendment rights, which are not unlimited and do not extend to interfering with the fair administration of justice. And by the way, there is already an intimidation ban against OJ in the Georgia case.
